Canon BJC-240 is a personal printing device capable of producing colored outputs using Inkjet technology. The printer and its corresponding driver can deliver a maximum printing resolution of 720×360 dpi or dots per inch for black and white printing mode and 360×360 dots per inch for colored printing mode. For the printer to connect to the computer, small utilities called drivers have to be installed. Canon BJC-240 drivers connect to the printer through the communications subsystem to which the printer connects.

The drivers for this printer carry information between the device and the OS, which in turn uses this information for registration purposes. The drivers also carry information on compatible devices, operating systems, and other system requirements and this information is used by the OS to facilitate the updating of the drivers. Canon BJC-240 drivers can be abstracted into physical and logical layers with the physical layers facilitating communication between the hardware components and the software components and the logical layers processing data. When a calling program invokes a routine in the printer’s drivers, the drivers issue commands to the printer and once it sends data back to the drivers, these drivers may invoke routines in the calling program.

Canon BJC-240 drivers provide the interrupt handling required for any necessary asynchronous time-dependent interface. You should update these drivers to improve performance and stability, as the first troubleshooting step, and whenever you get an error message. Canon BJC-240 drivers and their updates are operating system-specific and hardware-dependent and you should therefore go through the readme.txt file in the installation folder for compatibility information.
